Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026
MP Vehicles ("we", "us", "our") operates mpvehicles.com, a website that presents our fleet of vehicles available for rent through Turo in Santa Cruz and Capitola, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum: our website has no forms, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number. Bookings and payments happen entirely on Turo's platform.

Who We Are
MP Vehicles is a local car-rental host serving Santa Cruz, Capitola and the Bay Area. Our vehicles are booked through Turo. When you book on Turo, your booking relationship is with Turo (with us as the host), and Turo's Privacy Policy applies to the booking process and to the information Turo collects.
Information We Collect
Website analytics and advertising measurement: when you visit our site, we use the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and to understand which vehicles interest our visitors. The pixel sends Meta your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you visit and the links you click (for example, which vehicle pages you view and which "Book on Turo" links you click), and an approximate location inferred from your IP address. Meta may place cookies (_fbp and _fbc) in your browser. Technical server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps) to operate and secure the website. What we do NOT collect: your name, email address, phone number, payment details or driver's license information. Bookings, payments and identity verification are handled by Turo, not by us.
How We Use the Information
We use the data described above to measure how our advertising performs (for example, to know that an ad on Facebook led to a visit to a specific vehicle page), to learn which vehicles interest visitors and improve the website, and to keep the site secure.
Who Receives the Information
Meta Platforms, Inc. receives the data collected by the Meta Pixel and uses it to provide us with aggregated ad-measurement reports and to serve advertising, under Meta's Business Tools terms and Meta's Privacy Policy. Our hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf. Turo receives information about you only when you leave our site by clicking a Turo link; from that moment, Turo's own Privacy Policy applies.
Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), allowing Meta to collect device and browsing data through the Meta Pixel for advertising purposes may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of this sharing at any time: click "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" below, or enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal in your browser — we honor those signals automatically. You can also adjust your advertising preferences in your Facebook settings. Opting out does not affect your ability to use our website.
How We Respond to Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Our website honors browser opt-out signals. If your browser transmits Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT), we do not load the Meta Pixel and no data about your visit is sent to Meta. If you click "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", we store your choice in your browser, stop loading the pixel on your future visits, and delete the pixel's _fbp and _fbc cookies from your browser.
Third-Party Collection on Our Site
When you use our site, Meta (through the Meta Pixel) may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, unless you have opted out as described above. When you click through to Turo, Turo's website has its own privacy practices.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we have collected about you; request that we delete it; request correction of inaccurate information; and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (see above). You may exercise these rights without discrimination. Note: the CCPA applies to businesses above certain size thresholds; as a small business we are below them, but we honor these rights anyway. We keep very little data ourselves — we have no customer database. To review or request changes to the information we hold, email us at contact@mpvehicles.com. Data already sent to Meta is controlled by Meta; you can exercise your rights over that data through Meta's privacy tools.
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults old enough to drive and to enter into Turo's rental agreements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We do not operate a database of visitor information. The Meta Pixel cookies (_fbp and _fbc) remain in your browser until they expire or you clear or block them; when you opt out, we delete them from your browser. Information sent to Meta is retained according to Meta's own policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
